This holiday season, Feeding Westchester’s Holiday Hop packing competition brought together incredible corporate and community teams for a friendly yet impactful event aimed at helping nourish our neighbors ahead of the year-end holidays.

Teams of 10 rolled up their sleeves, packed fresh produce, and showed what giving back truly looks like in action. As Greg Licht, Director at Elmwood Day Camp, shared, “We love volunteering with Feeding Westchester because we believe in anything we can do to help support our local communities. Hunger is a cause that resonates deeply with our campers, and it’s something that matters to us. We’re grateful to lend a helping hand and support the mission of Feeding Westchester.”
The day was filled with laughter, teamwork, and a shared sense of purpose. Kelley Wilkins, Vice President at Morgan Stanley, emphasized the importance of being there for those in need, especially in light of recent challenges. “With the recent challenges of SNAP benefits and the stories of people lining up at food banks, it’s more important than ever to get involved. Events like this, especially before the holidays, help make a real difference. And here we are, showing up to give back.”
Local schools like Pelham Memorial High School have been involved in supporting Feeding Westchester for years. Megan Rice shared, “Feeding Westchester does incredible work, and we’re proud to partner with you. Your efforts help so many people, and we’re honored to support this important mission.”
Our church community, too, has long been a part of this effort. Mary Makintosh, from Reformed Church, reflected on the significance of the work: “Our church is committed to supporting Feeding Westchester because we see firsthand the need for food in our community, especially among refugees. As a mental health practitioner, I also witnessed the effects of SNAP cuts, and I feel it’s our responsibility to ensure that no one goes hungry.”

Congratulations to this year’s standout teams:
