As a result of last week’s flooding from Hurricane Ida, many areas of New York, including Westchester County, have been declared major disaster areas by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Mamaroneck, Yonkers, and Port Chester are amongst the hardest hit county areas.
Feeding Westchester is working with its community partners and other organizations — including the Red Cross and local restaurants — to provide assistance and food for those in need.
In order to do our part in nourishing our neighbors during this time, we need your support. You can help most by putting together breakfast and lunch bags for those most affected across the Westchester community.
Feeding Westchester aims to collect 2,500 meal bags over the next two weeks in order to meet the increased need for food.
There are children, seniors, and hardworking families right here in Westchester dealing with power outages, extensive damage from flooding, and resulting lack of housing and food! You can help make a difference today.
Here is how you can make these meal bags.
