Exciting News: Feeding Westchester Launches First Nutrition Workshop with MFP at Palisade’s Towers
Today marks a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to promote healthy eating habits in our community. We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our very first nutrition workshop in collaboration with the Mobile Food Pantry (MFP) at the Palisade’s Towers in Yonkers!
The workshop is part of the Eat Well, Live Strong program, a new initiative designed to inspire and empower our neighbors to make healthier food choices. We kicked off this exciting new chapter by sharing the benefits of “coloring your plate” with a variety of fruits and vegetables—a simple yet powerful way to improve overall health.

What Happened at the Workshop?
Neighbors were welcomed with helpful handouts and the opportunity to sample our delicious Nectarine Salsa (formerly known as Peach Salsa). This tasty treat is just one example of how we’re making healthy eating both accessible and enjoyable. Our nutrition team was on hand to guide attendees, offering tips and recipes to help them integrate more colorful produce into their meals.
In addition to the salsa, each neighbor received fresh nectarines to take home, offering a delicious and nutritious snack that’s perfect for summertime. This program is designed not just to feed, but to nourish our community with the tools they need to live a healthier life.
A Gracious Gift
We’re incredibly grateful to the Danone Foundation for their generous donation, which made this opportunity possible. Their support helps us continue our mission of nourishing neighbors in need, and we look forward to many more workshops like this one in the future.
As we move forward, we remain committed to expanding our programs and ensuring that every neighbor has access to the nutrition education and resources they deserve. Stay tuned for more updates on the Eat Well, Live Strong program as we continue to work together for a healthier tomorrow!
Thank you to everyone who participated in today’s workshop, and a special thank you to the Danone Foundation for making it all possible!
In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, our offices are closed today, January 19. Food donation drop-off remains open, and your support helps ensure neighbors across Westchester have access to fresh, healthy food.
