ELMSFORD, NY (OCTOBER 1, 2024)
Brad Kerner has joined Feeding Westchester as Vice President, Community Engagement and Impact. In this key role, Kerner will oversee the organization’s programs within our vast partner network of food pantries, community centers, religious institutions and health centers, ensuring that the non-profit continues to serve the Westchester community with impactful and innovative solutions to support those in need.
“Brad brings a wealth of experience, and we are thrilled to have him on board as we continue to evolve and expand our programs”, said Tami Wilson, Feeding Westchester’s Chief Operating Officer. “He will work closely with all areas in our organization to strengthen our program service delivery, expand our partnerships, and implement new ideas that align with our mission. We are confident that his leadership and innovative approach will help us make an even greater difference in the lives of those we serve.”
Kerner is a seasoned non-profit programmatic expert with over 25 years of experience. He earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan and Master of Public Health from Columbia University.
Kerner’s career began with three years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Gabon, Central Africa, where he worked on HIV education and learned French. He then served as a health educator in a school-based clinic in Harlem, NY for five years. This laid the groundwork for a 17-year run with Save the Children, in which he traveled to over 30 food-insecure countries, while leading the adolescent health team. During the Covid pandemic, he pivoted to become a sustainability consultant, blogger, and entrepreneur. Brad is an out-of-the-box thinker and a consensus builder who brings passion, energy, creativity and innovation to his work.
